Cerakote - Patriot Brown

Patriot Brown has become one of our favorite colors.  We are not sure if it is a light brown or a dark tan, but it would blend in great in a hot cocoa factory.  We like it as a solid color on the metal of our rifles and also use it in our camouflage patterns.

A pair of rifles Cerakoted for a Marine, Patriot Brown was used on the metal and is also the darker color on the polymer stocks.

Cerakote Examples - Federal Standard 30118

Cerakote - Federal Standard Field Drab 30118

Like the name implies, this Cerakote color matches the Federal Standard Field Drab 30118 color.  It is essentially a shade of coyote tan.  Bushmaster uses this color as their Coyote Tan on the ACR, which is why we started using it.  It is an interesting color which will get some more use on our rifles in the future.

Cerakote Examples - Verde Green

Cerakote - Verde Green

Verde Green is a light green, that almost looks white next to other colors.  To us, it closely resembles the color of sage brush leaves, and some "wait a minute" bushes we remember from our days in southern Arizona.

We like to use Verde Green in our camouflage patterns when a lighter color is needed.

Verde Green is the lighter color uses on the stock on Sawtooth Rifles #9, and comes close to the color of the moss growing on the rocks in this photograph.

Verde Green is also the lighter color used on the stock of Sawtooth Rifles #7.

Magpul OD Green is another popular color, as it blends in well in nature and matches the Magpul components and magazines.  We like it as a solid color on our rifles and also use it in Camouflage patterns.

Magpul OD Green is slightly darker than the regular OD Green Cerakote to our eyes.

Magpul Flat Dark Earth is a popular color, as it blends in in natural environments and because it matches the Magpul components and magazines.  It is also a useful color in Camouflage patterns.

Coyote Tan is a mid-range tan that is slightly browner than flat dark earth to our eyes.  It is a great color on its own and is useful in camouflage patterns.

Sawtooth Rifles #7 was Cerakoted with Coyote Tan on the metal and as the base coat on the stock.

Sawtooth Rifles #4 was Cerakoted with Coyote tan as the base coat on the stock, which has Sniper Grey and OD Green splatters added.

Cerakote - Sniper Grey

Sniper Grey is one of our favorite colors, especially for our custom rifles.  It never looks out of place on a firearm, and goes well with most of the other colors, wood, and camouflage patterns.  We also use Sniper Grey in some of our camouflage patterns.  Sniper Grey and OD Green is probably our favorite combination.

Sawtooth Rifles #2, a .35 Whelen built on a Marlin XL7 with Sniper Grey on the metal.

Sawtooth Rifles build #3 and #4, on Safari in South Africa as an extreme test of the Cerakote finishes.  The metal on these two were finished with Sniper Grey.  The stock on #3 (top) was finished with Flat Dark Earth and Sniper Grey splatters.  The Stock on #4 (bottom) was finished with Coyote Tan with Sniper Grey and OD Green splatters.
